Stuff the Stockings Holiday Project

"Filling Head Start Hearts with Holiday Wishes"
Every year generous sponsors fulfill the holiday wishes of more than 1,100 children in the UAMS Head Start/Early Head Start program. The program provides quality health, education, and social services to low-income children and families throughout Pulaski County.
“Stuff the Stockings” began seven years ago when UAMS Head Start/Early Head Start employees coordinated an event responding to the unmet holiday desires of their students. Since then UAMS Head Start has partnered with various departments within UAMS, businesses throughout Pulaski County, and numerous individuals to help make the holidays more joyful for our children and families.
You, too, can be a part of “Stuff the Stockings” by adopting one of 71 classrooms at 17 sites throughout Pulaski County! Adopting a classroom can be fun and rewarding for both you and the children. It can also be a simple act of kindness if you recruit co-workers, family members and friends to make a donation, no matter how big or small.
As described by the UAMS E6/Perinatal Unit, Stuff the Stockings exemplifies “the true ‘spirit’ of Christmas and has not only helped us to bring joy to the lives of many children, but has brought us closer together as a unit and family.”
The season of gift giving is an exciting time for many children, but not every child is as fortunate. Please consider adopting a classroom or site and bring a smile to a child’s face this holiday season.
