Introduction

Grand RoundsWe are a competitive residency program.  Our current criteria for residency application are as follows:

We will accept ALL applications through the ERAS program.   (All faxed applications will be discarded.)

  1. Preference will be given to those candidates who meet one of the three criterion below:
    • Permanent US citizen; OR,
    • Individual living in the State of Arkansas; OR,
    • Those having scores of 90 or above on the USMLE Steps 1 & 2.
  2. We sponsor H1-B and J1 visas.
  3. At this time we do not have a requirement regarding previous US clinical experience.
  4. We have no stipulation regarding the number of years out of medical school.
  5. We do not sponsor observerships or externships.  To participate in clinical activities in this program (e.g., acting internships), it is our policy that a student be currently enrolled in an LCME-accredited medical school.
  6. We accept applications through December 31, but our interview schedule fills early.  We encourage serious applicants to submit their application early.
  7. We do not offer pre-matches.
  8. Because graduates from some international medical schools are not eligible to receive a license in the State of Arkansas, we will not accept applications from graduates of those schools.  Please read Graduate Medical Education Policy 1.220 listed below.

Quotes from our Residents, Alumni & Attendings

"It's where I felt at home. I looked at other residencies, but ultimately the other residents and faculty at ACH are what made me choose this program. Everyone is so friendly and inviting. After spending so much time at ACH during medical school, there was no way that I could leave it. Not only are the medical staff so friendly, also the nurses and other staff here are wonderful and very willing to help!"
