Elective Rotations

A wide range of electives are available to meet your individual interests.  There are specific electives available in all the pediatric specialties and most of the pediatric surgical subspecialities.  Residents interested in primary care are encouraged to complete a Primary Care month at a private practice with an experienced pediatrician or in a Community Pediatric rotation which combines some of all community sites.  We also have a Child Advocacy elective which takes advantage of our unique location within the state’s capital.  If you are interested in research, you can arrange for a dedicated research month.  And lastly, many of our residents have arranged month long rotations abroad to learn about international medicine.  Ultimately, you are limited only by your imagination for a few of these elective months.

Quotes from our Residents, Alumni & Attendings

"Arkansas Children’s Hospital is an awesome facility and getting better every day. My favorite aspects of ACH are the great camaraderie amongst the residents and Chiefs, Kelly Simon, the Circle of Friends Clinic (continuity clinic), and the great faculty who seem to enjoy interacting with and teaching residents."
